Pro Solar Observa
High Output Solar Floodlight with PIR Motion Sensor
The Observa Solar Floodlight with PIR is made from durable ABS which is a good for coastal locations, with anti-corrosion properties. The bracket is made from solid steel for additional sturdiness. The large, stand-alone solar panel is edged in aluminium, again, with a sturdy, steel, adjustable bracket with multiple mounting points.
The Observa is a compact design, with a deceivingly bright output. 2 sizes are available: 10W (1500 lumens) and 30W (4800 lumens). Both models incorporate high output LEDs with a CCT colour switch. Easily switch between 3000K and 6000K via the remote control. The Observa PIR Solar Floodlight is a 2 piece kit with LED PIR floodlight and solar panel. A 5m plug & play cable connects the floodlight and solar panel for best placement for charging and illumination. The PIR (passive infra-red) sensor will detect motion up to 8m.
The long range remote control (see image below) will adjust various settings from up to 12m away (line of sight). Choose from Dusk to Dawn (constant on), PIR Motion Sensor (reduced brightness to full brightness), 3hr, 5hr, 8hr, 12hr Constant On. Brightness is also adjustable to 20%, 40%, 60% brightness. In addition, override off will turn off the Solar Floodlight with PIR when it is not required.
Solar Floodlight Technology – 2 piece
The solar panel is separate to the flood light, with a 5m plug & play connection cable. As a result, the solar panel can be situated away from the floodlight itself. The panel should be mounted south facing, if possible, with no obstructions. The floodlight can then remain in a shaded position where light and motion detection is required. Another benefit is that the monocrystalline solar panels are much bigger as they are not restricted to the size of the floodlight. A larger panel will charge quicker and more effectively with a larger surface area to absorb sunlight.
The long life, Lithium batteries, have a long lifespan of up to 8 years and retain charge well due to their high capacity. As the battery is located in the back of the solar flood light, once charged, the floodlight will work as a temporary stand alone unit. The Observa will reach full charge after 4-6 hours of full sunshine. Then it will last for over up to 2 full nights. Even in dull weather, our professional solar lights continue to illuminate each night, although they may not last the entire night. It is recommended to use a short timer setting and 20% brightness to prolong battery life in long periods of poor weather, e.g. winter months.
The Future is Solar…
Solar energy is one of the world’s most innovative renewable power sources making a huge difference to the environment. The sun charges the rechargeable batteries during the day which is stored and used at night. There has been a really positive progression with solar technology and strongly believe now is the time to really push forward and make the change. Other benefits are clear for end users, with no running, installation or maintenance costs. There will always be areas which are difficult to illuminate, particularly due to wiring issues. Solar is the perfect solution.
