David Wood of LKQ Leisure partnered with Lumena Lights to upgrade Willand Rovers Football Club’s Lighting.
The Heliosol 300W is a high-output solar floodlight from the Pro Solar Range. These high-spec designs are a natural progression from the Lumelux solar floodlights. The decision to offer higher-output solar floodlights to a UK audience was influenced by seeing many less powerful and less efficient offerings on the market. Importantly, however, over the years we have seen many customers who require a high level of light in a very dark setting, where access to power was an issue.
The Heliosol high-output solar floodlight is the perfect solution for this and has a 5-year supplier guarantee. With a compact design, the floodlight is made from durable die-cast aluminium with a solid steel bracket for extra sturdiness. The light can switch between various functions with the long-range remote control, adjusting settings from up to 12m away. You can choose from 2hr, 4hr and 6hr timers, dusk to dawn; additionally, the light output can be adjusted from full brightness to 20% brightness when less light is required, as well as override on and off. Due to its memory function, the settings selected will continue each night.
A large solar panel is connected via a 2m plug & play connector cable. This enables the solar panel to be installed up to 2m away from the luminaire. In addition, the adjustable bracket allows for upward tilt. As a result, the solar panel can be situated in the best position for optimal charging, while the floodlight can be situated in the shade where illumination is required.
The Heliosol 300W has been installed in the Willand Rovers Football Club car park. The Southern League Division One South football club is based in Willand, near Exeter, Devon. The requirement was to create a well-lit area in the public car park, enhancing safety and efficiency for evening fixtures and events. The Heliosol is the perfect choice for both requirements. With the ability to be either surface-mounted or pole-mounted, Willand Rovers chose to install the 2-piece solar floodlight on the side of the building, at roughly 2.5m high. This provides up to 8m of light coverage.
Mike Hawkings, Chairman of Willand Rovers FC:
‘’Willand Rovers FC would like to thank David Wood of LKQ Leisure and Lumena Lights Ltd for their donation of a 3000 lumens LED solar powered light to improve night-time lighting in the club car park. This additional light will significantly improve the amenity of a particularly dark area for users of the club attending evening events. Many thanks from Mike Hawkins, the Chairman of WRFC.’’
