Pro Solar Solspike
7W LED Solar Spotlights with Ground Spikes
The Solspike kit is a set of 3 solar spotlights complete with ground spikes and powered from a single solar panel. Made from die-cast aluminium with sturdy 4 fin anchor ground spikes these solar spike lights are a great addition to any garden setting. Each solar spotlight is fully adjustable via the attached U-bracket. As well as being used with a ground spike, the u-bracket also screws directly to a flat surface. The incorporated glare shield prevents excess light pollution and a more concentrated beam of light. 7W COB LEDs produce up to 630lm (80lm/w) per solar spikelight projecting up to approx. 5m. These 3000K LEDs create a cosy, ambient light, more suited to wildlife than a more blue, daylight white.
Technology
The polycrystalline 6v 8w solar panel is approximately 34 x 25cm. As it is a separate unit, rather than incorporated into each spike light, it is larger and will charge more efficiently. It will reach full charge in as little as 6 hours of sunshine producing power for up to 3 days. In addition, positioning is more versatile. Attach the panel on a wall / fence up high in full sunshine, with the solar spot lights mounted in the shade and within foliage. Each luminaire is complete with approx. 2m of cable to cover a large area of up to 6m. In addition, an extra 2m of cable allows the panel to be mounted even further away.
Lithium Ion batteries (18650) are located in a waterproof battery box on the back of the solar panel. This location results in the solar lights themselves being more compact. These are expected to last for several years, along with the solar panel and LEDs, all of which have a 2 year guarantee. A gradual dimming sequence also helps to retain battery charge for a longer period of time, reducing light output as the night progresses. A handy remote control also turns the solar spotlights on and off, as well as changing functionality, including timers. Timers, again, will increase discharge time using less power in shorter timeframes.
The Future is Solar…
Solar is clearly becoming a serious consideration for many applications due to the growing concerns of the current climate. Solar energy is one of the World’s most innovative renewable power sources which can make a huge difference to the environment. Rechargeable batteries are charged by the sun’s rays during the day which is stored and used at night. There has been a really positive progression with solar technology and strongly believe now is the time to really push forward and make the change. Other benefits are clear for end users, with no running, installation or maintenance costs. There will always be areas that are difficult to illuminate, particularly due to wiring issues. Solar is the perfect solution.
