The AlvaLED Mini – 12v mini spike light is a compact alternative to the standard AlvaLED design, but with the same enhanced features and modern appearance. Available in the most popular powder coated finish, classic black, this smart, elegant finish looks great in daylight and disappears when darkness falls.
It incorporates an MR11 bulb holder, compatible with multiple LED lamp options. The U-shape adjustable bracket allows two different mounting options, spike mount or surface mount. A 250mm ground spike is included as standard. The U-bracket also results in a fully adjustable spike light over 180 degrees.

12V Mini Spike Light
The AlvaLED Mini is a compact alternative to the standard AlvaLED design, but with the same enhanced features and modern appearance. The AlvaLED 12v mini spike light incorporates an MR11 bulb holder, compatible with multiple LED lamp options. Through choice of MR11, lumens output, wattage and colour temperature are all selectable. We recommend the use of our retro-fit 2.5W MR11 (glass).
The U-shape adjustable bracket allows two different mounting options, spike mount or surface mount. A 250mm ground spike is included as standard. The U-bracket also results in a fully adjustable spike light over 180 degrees. In addition to the standard spike, a larger, 40cm pole with 4 fin ground spike is available as a substitute spike. This is particularly beneficial for adding height in areas of high planting or more stability in exposed areas. Also, the stainless steel 4 fin anchor spike upgrade is ideal for particularly soft ground, or areas where the mini 12v spike light could could be interfered with.
Classic black is the most popular, powder coated finish of spike light. This smart, elegant finish looks great in daylight and disappears when darkness falls. The most effective way of lighting a garden is to see the lighting effects but not the light source, which is why black fittings are popular.
Supplied complete with approximately 1.5m cable with VERSA plug & play connector, this mini garden spotlight is quick and simple to install. Simply plug into any VERSA female splitter or transformer and plug the transformer into a waterproof outdoor socket. Using multiple splitters and cables will extend the plug and play system as required.

Garden Lighting Made Easy!
Lumena offer a large range of high end 12v Plug and Play lighting and accessories making it very simple and easy for quick DIY installation. Low voltage lighting is particularly suited to outdoor environments because it tolerates the damp conditions without performance being affected. Anything required underwater should also be low voltage as it is much safer.
When it comes to connections, there are multiple cables and adaptors which are suitable for various 12v plug and play lighting systems. Lumena’s Versa plug & play system is compatible with a number of brands such as Techmar. Cables are available in various length in various combinations of plug & play and open end. In addition, 3 way and 6 way connectors make it very simple for connecting components and fittings to just one transformer.
12v lightings requires a transformer in order for these to be powered. A transformer converts 240v mains down to 12v low voltage. We stock various wattage transformers (10w, 20w, 50w and 100w). Calculate which size transformer is required for a circuit following this simple formula:
Lamp Wattage x Lamp Quantity = Total Wattage Required (minimum)
Example: 5W MR16 x 3 fittings = 15WÂ Â (20W transformer required)
You must never exceed the wattage of a transformer, and avoid underloading. The ideal capacity is 75-90% load.
12v Lighting Set-up Example
12v lighting circuits can use a combination of plug and play and hard wired components. Versa Plug & play is simple with various compatible adaptors, cables and transformers available. Easily convert plug and play to hard wired with our plug & play to open ended cable. Standard junction boxes and in-line connectors can then be used to connect the two systems together.
