External 12v PIR Control Unit – Motion Sensor (12v)

This external 12v PIR motion sensor is ideal for mounting in the garden to control low voltage outdoor lighting systems. Sealed into an IP rated box, the sensor is waterproof and can be mounted onto any flat surface). A dip switch control box is located inside the box. This allows a number of settings to adjust easily. These include: a dusk to dawn setting which controls whether or not the sensor will work during daytime or only during darkness. Also, a low or high sensitive detection range, and various time delays from 5 seconds to 8 minutes.

This PIR sensor uses infra-red, IC and SMD technology which is triggered when movement is detected. This results in the sensor turning on the light fitting(s) whilst the trigger is in range. It then turns off again after the set period of time. This creates a sense of security around the home and helps reduce energy bills with little energy wastage when there is no need for lights.

TIP: The sensor should be mounted on a flat surface out of direct light and with no obstructions which may affect the functionality. An external mounting bracket is supplied, however the box can also be mounted via the internal mounting holes in each corner. 2 M20 cable glands are supplied for ease of installation / wiring offering secure, waterproof connections as well as the self sealing membrane outlets.
