ViaMAX Streetmaster – Solar Lamp Post
One fast-growing trend is the increase in demand for renewable energy sources. For years, the focus has been around shifting to more sustainable lifestyle. The recent sharp rises in electricity prices have been a catalyst for this change. Consequently, this has left businesses and consumers searching for new ways to keep costs down. At the beginning of 2022, Lumena witnessed this for themselves with record sales for solar lighting, including solar bollards, solar wall lights and our new range of solar lamp post designs & solar street lights.
One continual user of solar lighting, Beer Head Caravan Park, caught onto the renewable energy trend two years ago, installing Olympia solar bollard lights. More recently, a different area of the site required a more powerful beam to illuminate a reception area pathway. The site team once again opted for solar, this time choosing the ViaMAX Streetmaster, a solar-powered amenity light with a 2700lm output.
Being the first port of call for visitors, reliable access lighting around the reception area is essential. In addition, with holiday season looming in the horizon, it made sense to get the install finished before large groups of holiday makers began arriving at site for summer. Visitor safety is paramount.
Solar street lighting was the best option for the site. Alongside reduced energy bills, the Streetmaster benefits from a quicker and simpler installation than mains powered lamppost lighting. Zero cabling meant the surface mounted 3m lamppost could be fixed to a pre-existing concreted base by a single installer.
So how easy is it to install a solar street light?
Lumena’s ViaMAX range includes various solar lamp posts designed for 50mm, 60mm & 76mm posts. Use an existing post, or mount a new one in position. Convert existing post diameters to fit a different size head with a collar adaptor, for example 76mm to 60mm. Secure the street light head to the lamp post via the collar and socket / grub screws included. Simply place on top and fasten the screws through the collar onto the pole. Obviously, solar means there is no need for wiring. Once the head is in place, just switch on. Install complete in minutes!
Beer Head Caravan Park provided us with some feedback of the install and are “very happy” with how it turned out. Matt, a member of the team on site, who also installed the solar lamppost, states how the Streetmaster “looks attractive, blends in [and] gives much needed light without the need for mains cables and all of the work involved”.
Thanks to the team at Arleigh Group Limited for providing the images and feedback from the install.
