Colour Temperature

Lamps with a low colour temperature produce what is described as a “warm white” light – often described as “yellow” or even “orange in very low colour temperatures such as old fashioned street lights. 

Lumens Output vs. Wattage Equivalents

Lumens Output is the measurement of how bright a lamp actually appears once illuminated. Often when replacing light bulbs, an equivalent wattage is requested. However the Lumen Output can vary between different brands of bulbs with exactly the same wattage. The higher the lumens output, the brighter the bulb. If replacing a 25W standard / halogen bulb with an equivalent LED, simply look for an LED lamp which has virtually the same lumen output for the closest match. Equivalents are often an estimate. Therefore comparing the lumen output is the best and more accurate way to replace bulbs with low energy equivalents.
