Create a feature from standard brick walls with the Charleston Brass Brick Light. This high quality slatted brick light is constructed from the strong, robust material of solid brass. As the name suggests, the size and shape of this light is designed to replace a standard brick as a recessed light. The brass back box has been designed with easy installation in mind, with 5 threaded secure cable outlet options.
The louvered / slatted faceplate angles the light emitted downwards without glare. Two G4 bulbs are required, and a highly polished internal reflector maximises the light output. Lumena recommend the use of their high output G4 LED capsule bulbs, available in warm white and cool white.

As the name suggests, the size and shape of this light is designed to replace a standard brick as a recessed light. The brass back box has been designed with easy installation in mind, with 5 threaded secure cable outlet options. Add one M20 cable gland with each 12v brick light to allow for a simple installation (optional extra).
Once installed, this slatted brick light looks elegant and blends in naturally, adding charm and character to dull exterior walls. On the front of the faceplate are 3 durable louvres which angle the light emitted downwards without glare. As well as improved light emission, the solid brass louvres act as a shield against damage to the internal components. Two G4 bulbs are required, and a highly polished internal reflector maximises the light output. Lumena recommend the use of their high output G4 LED capsule bulbs, available in warm white and cool white.
Being a 12v low voltage brick light, it is suited to particularly damp environments. Condensation may occur with any outdoor light. If this water drips on the bulb holder or connection cables, low voltage circuits will continue to function without issues. In addition, 12v systems are much safer to install and maintain than 240v mains supply. If someone was to come into contact with a 12v low voltage system, a small shock may be felt, but nowhere near enough to cause serious harm.

Low voltage lighting is particularly suited to outdoor environments because it tolerates the damp conditions without performance being affected. Anything required underwater should also be low voltage as it is much safer.
When it comes to connections, there are multiple cables and adaptors which are suitable for various 12v plug and play lighting systems. Lumena’s Versa plug & play system is compatible with a number of brands such as Techmar. Cables are available in various length in various combinations of plug & play and open end. In addition, 3 way and 6 way connectors make it very simple for connecting components and fittings to just one transformer.
12v lightings requires a transformer in order for these to be powered. A transformer converts 240v mains down to 12v low voltage. We stock various wattage transformers (10w, 20w, 50w and 100w). Calculate which size transformer is required for a circuit following this simple formula:
Lamp Wattage x Lamp Quantity = Total Wattage Required (minimum)
Example: 5W MR16 x 3 fittings = 15WÂ Â (20W transformer required)
You must never exceed the wattage of a transformer, and avoid underloading. The ideal capacity is 75-90% load.
12v Lighting Set-up Example
12v lighting circuits can use a combination of plug and play and hard wired components. Versa Plug & play is simple with various compatible adaptors, cables and transformers available. Easily convert plug and play to hard wired with our plug & play to open ended cable. Standard junction boxes and in-line connectors can then be used to connect the two systems together.
