The Linalite is a traditional recessed light made from natural Copper which will weather over time to blend it in with it’s natural surroundings – see below for more info. A stylish louvred grill bezel adds detail to the head of the fitting, which also creates a subtle slatted effect when illuminated.

Please note: This fitting must be installed with the mounting sleeve and additional rubber seal. If the sleeving and seal is not used, the Guarantee will be void. Not for use in areas prone to water-logging or flooding.

Linalite – 12V Louvered In-Wall / In-Ground / Step Light – Natural Copper

The Linalite is a traditional Natural Copper in ground light or step light. Natural Copper weathers over time to blend in with its natural surroundings – see below for more info. A stylish louvred grill bezel adds detail to the head of the fitting, which also creates a subtle slatted effect when illuminated. The secure clear lens fitted behind the grill ensures light diffuses evenly and efficiently. The threaded front bezel attaches to the body of the fitting easily with a simple screwing action. No tools are required if the lamp fails. This also adds to the aesthetics as there are no external screws or fixings on show.

A robust removable plastic sleeve covers the body of the fitting, adding protection and assisting with installation. The sleeving builds into the wall during construction. or fitted into a pre-drilled hole; the copper body then pushes into the casing, where it is held firmly in place leaving only the front grill plate on show.
A choice of MR16 lamp can be used in the versatile ‘Linalite’ due to the way the lamp holder is designed, although we do recommend the use of LED MR16s for maximum output. Ideal for mounting in the ground such as a patio area (where a walk over feature may be required), garden borders and decking, as well as walls and steps.
The Linalite is supplied with approx. 3m of 2 core H05RN-F cable. This longer cable length enables up to a 6m gap between two ground lights with only one cable join.

Garden Lighting Made Easy!

Lumena offer a large range of high end 12v Plug and Play lighting and accessories making it very simple and easy for quick DIY installation. Low voltage lighting is particularly suited to outdoor environments because it tolerates the damp conditions without performance being affected. Anything required underwater should also be low voltage as it is much safer.

When it comes to connections, there are multiple cables and adaptors which are suitable for various 12v plug and play lighting systems. Lumena’s Versa plug & play system is compatible with a number of brands such as Techmar. Cables are available in various length in various combinations of plug & play and open end. In addition, 3 way and 6 way connectors make it very simple for connecting components and fittings to just one transformer.

12v lightings requires a transformer in order for these to be powered. A transformer converts 240v mains down to 12v low voltage. We stock various wattage transformers (10w, 20w, 50w and 100w). Calculate which size transformer is required for a circuit following this simple formula:

Lamp Wattage x Lamp Quantity = Total Wattage Required (minimum)

Example: 5W MR16 x 3 fittings = 15W (20W transformer required)

You must never exceed the wattage of a transformer, and avoid underloading. The ideal capacity is 75-90% load.

12v Lighting Set-up Example

12v lighting circuits can use a combination of plug and play and hard wired components. Versa Plug & play is simple with various compatible adaptors, cables and transformers available. Easily convert plug and play to hard wired with our plug & play to open ended cable. Standard junction boxes and in-line connectors can then be used to connect the two systems together.
