These amazingly stylish wooden path lights are totally bespoke; built to withstand weather and the test of time. The ‘Radiata’ are so called, because of the solid Radiata Pine which is sustainably sourced. Well-known for low splitting properties with no feathering. These wooden path lights go through outstanding treatment and are fully sanded to give a smooth top quality finish. As a result, during pressure treatment the entire timber is penetrated by the latest generation wood preservative.
The light shines downwards, giving anti-glare illumination from the 12v Eye-lid style fitting incorporated into the post. The light fitting is fantastically durable as it is Solid Brass. This wooden post requires 1 x G4 LED Bulb (purchased separately) and as this version of the light is 12v (low voltage), a 240v-12v AC transformer will be required.
As a natural material, Radiata products will possess structural features, such as knots, splits and twists.Â

Tanalith E preservative treatment is used in accordance with BS8417 to meet Use Class 4. Sourced and CNC machined by a top FSC certified timber supplier, this Radiata pine is suitable for most climates, whether the environment is hot or wet. They are fully sanded creating a smooth, top quality finish.

The expected life of the Radiata is up to 15 years with a 5 year Guarantee as standard.
The Radiata is designed so that 300mm – 400mm of the wooden bollard can be securely mounted in-ground. They are well-suited to rural areas such as parks, walkways, caravan parks, larger driveways.
As a natural material, it is common for cracking in the wood to appear. Usually this has no effect on the strength of the post and varies based on the moisture content of the wood. The preservative treatment helps to increase the moisture level, therefore reducing cracking. The best time of year for external installs of wooden posts is between October and March. This is because the sun is less intense, reducing the risk of rapid drying. Not recommended to install in waterlogged areas as this will have a negative effect on the wood.

Garden Lighting Made Easy!

Anything required underwater should also be low voltage as it is much safer.
When it comes to connections, there are multiple cables and adaptors which are suitable for various 12v plug and play lighting systems. Lumena’s Versa plug & play system is compatible with a number of brands such as Techmar. Cables are available in various length in various combinations of plug & play and open end. In addition, 3 way and 6 way connectors make it very simple for connecting components and fittings to just one transformer.
12v lightings requires a transformer in order for these to be powered. A transformer converts 240v mains down to 12v low voltage. We stock various wattage transformers (10w, 20w, 50w and 100w). Calculate which size transformer is required for a circuit following this simple formula:
Lamp Wattage x Lamp Quantity = Total Wattage Required (minimum)
Example: 5W MR16 x 3 fittings = 15WÂ Â (20W transformer required)
You must never exceed the wattage of a transformer, and avoid underloading. The ideal capacity is 75-90% load.
12v Lighting Set-up Example
12v lighting circuits can use a combination of plug and play and hard wired components. Versa Plug & play is simple with various compatible adaptors, cables and transformers available.
